Rekha Shankar is from Philadelphia, PA. She’s an executive story editor for Grand Crew (NBC) and for Andy Samberg and Neil Campbell's Digman! (Comedy Central). She was also a staff writer for Animaniacs (Hulu) and Head Writer for CollegeHumor. She is a Vulture’s Comedian You Should Know and a Just For Laughs: New Faces - Creator.

She can be seen on Dropout’s Gamechanger, Dimension 20, and as the host of Smartypants, as well as Between Two Ferns: The Movie, Hacks, Aunty Donna’s House of Fun, Cupid in a Hershey’s commercial, and in a Zelle ad with Christina Ricci. She is also on stage every week at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre LA.

Other credits include Edinburgh Fringe Fest, The New Yorker, ClickHole, Reductress, Kal Penn Approves This Message, Slamdance, and being a national punner. One of her New Yorker pieces about how recipes have way too much backstory up top even went “viral.”
